We are a collection of grass-roots groups living, working and campaigning for a more sustainable Manchester. We are trying to ensure that the places where we live (our neighbourhoods) can fulfil their potential and become what we as citizens both need and deserve them to be.
We care about street design and the quality of our public spaces; about climate change, energy and waste; we have concerns over our buildings, local food production and affordable, safe, housing. We believe that we should live within our means to safeguard society for future generations. We have a sister site SNAG Planning Issues or SNAG Pi for short which is dedicated to planning issues and consultation.
We are the third sector voice of the Sustainable Neighbourhoods Partnership which governs housing, planing, regeneration and environmental issues right across the city and we like to say what’s on our minds.
SNAG is a branch of Environment Network for Manchester and the convenor is based at MERCi and as such we are also concerned about wider environmental issues and social justice.
We are part of Community Network for Manchester a collection of voluntary and community groups organised through networks, that exists to find new ways of enabling people to fully participate in Manchester’s economic, social and cultural life.
